You may or may not know that my first profession was teaching. I’ve spent a good part of the last 8 years in front of the classroom, and now I’m excited to combine teaching and photography in a workshop! I’m partnering with fellow Central Coast photographer Mary Kelting for this event. Check it out:
Capture life’s precious moments with tips from the pros! Professional family photos are treasured for a life time, but often it is those small, every day events that you want to remember forever. Think of your baby’s first steps, blowing out birthday candles, or a well-rehearsed dance routine. Whatever it is, Mary and Jasmine want to give you the know-how so you can make those photos shine.
The “Rock your Camera” workshop will be held at Cal Poly on Saturday June 6th from 9am to 12pm. The cost is just $125 per person.This will be a fun filled day dedicated to learning how to take better pictures of your children. We will teach you some great tips and techniques including your positioning, camera settings, and how to use available light to get incredible shots. There will also be a chance to practice with live kiddos and then we will evaluate what you learned! If you are someone armed with a great Digital SLR camera, and want to learn more about how to use it, this workshop is for you. You may also attend with point and shoot camera. A light breakfast will be provided as well as yummy cupcakes donated by the amazing Amy Bakes Cupcakes!!! We will also have some great take home tips and tricks. Prizes too!!!

year two of spring family pictures with this adorable family… except last time, they were a family of four. ilsa originally told me that getting ‘good’ pictures of her girls would be a challenge, but i think i met that challenge :) we met for a gorgeous, sun-filled afternoon at the johnson ranch trail – one of my favorite locations and a great place to go hike/walk with kids of any age!

this family was so wonderful to meet and photograph… maya was very shy to start but i got a few smiles out of her, dylan was just adorable and drooly and smiley, and julie & jesse just have such love for their two kids – they’re really a beautiful family in every way.

i’ve known matt and kara for about three years… when kara was an aide at my husband’s school and offered to babysit our girls. kara and matt were married and crazy about kids, but waiting until the time was right to have a baby of their own. i’m sad to have lost some fabulous adult babysitters, but am so thrilled for this little family.

i’m excited to announce a contest to take advantage of this gorgeous spring season here on the central coast!
if you’ve been thinking about scheduling a portrait session with jasmine johnson photography, now is your chance to win one! the winner of this contest will receive:
- an on-location mini-session (30-45 minutes)
- 5 digital images on disc
- five 5×7 prints
- a $425 value!

over the next two weeks, i’ll collect entry pictures of your cute kiddos for this contest. starting the week of april 5, voting will begin on this blog. you can vote once a day for your favorite kid – and send your friends and family here to do the same! voting will last one week.

after this session, i’m convinced that if my two kids were boys, i’d likely be 15 pounds thinner :) joel and caleb just ate up the camera (and my fruit snacks!) leif was a little more of a challenge (as all 1 1/2 year olds are!) but i managed to catch him a few times.

sweet mister ryan is just six days new. the calmest, sleepiest baby i’ve met to date. he was a week and a half overdue and his family couldn’t be happier that he’s finally here.

I begged your husband to let me babysit after meeting the girls at the volleyball game! Thank you for curbing my baby hunger for a few years :) So happy to have a squishy of my own now…you captured her (& us) perfectly :)
